The 2020 Rotary Spelling Bee postponed due to challenges surrounding the labour disruption. The next Rotary Spelling Bee is May 8, 2021 at Fleming College.

What we do
- Promote children’s learning. Teach new words, their meaning, and proper spelling
- Build vocabulary, build confidence and self-esteem, also improve study habits and written work.
- It improves memory and focus. Aid in public speaking. Provide an opportunity to meet new friends.
- Develop a sense of pride, Assist in education, Build social skills.
- Provide recognition for all participants and offers prizes to category winners.
How we do
- Supported by school boards and administrators. Open to all children, grades 4-8 in Peterborough and district.
- Open to 45 schools eligible to participate (Public, Catholic & Private).
- Returning funds raised to participating schools to promote literacy. and fun one-day competition.
- Televised by Codeco and supported by local newspapers, television & radio.
